SUNRISE Group and Minor Hotels sign joint venture to bring Anantara to Egypt
The partnership brings Anantara to Giza, Azha Ras Al Hekma and Azha Ain Sokhna.
In 2025, SUNRISE Group signed a joint venture agreement with Minor Hotels, the international hotel group behind Anantara. The partnership brings the Anantara brand to Egypt.
The first three hotels under the agreement are Anantara Giza Hotel, Anantara – Azha Ras Al Hekma on Egypt's North Coast and Anantara – Azha Ain Sokhna on the Red Sea.
Two of the three are set within destinations created by Madaar Developments, the group's real estate company. Azha Ain Sokhna is Madaar's established Red Sea destination, where 1,600 units have been delivered. Azha Ras El Hekma is its Mediterranean destination, with 750 metres of prime beach and a 152,000 m² crystal lagoon.
The joint venture is part of a wider development pipeline of 18 new projects in Egypt, Greece, Zanzibar and Morocco, alongside resort extensions that will add 370 rooms to some of our most popular resorts.
